Tens of thousands of people protested in Delhi against a recent revision of India's voter list, targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. Demonstrators say the electoral roll revision benefits the ruling party and unfairly removes legitimate voters, turning an electoral technical exercise into a major political controversy.
Why now: Large-scale opposition protests over perceived electoral manipulation are drawing wide attention to India's electoral integrity.
