USS John F. Kennedy Delays Push Carrier Deployment Past 2028

Original: uss john f. kennedy

The US Navy's new Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy will not deploy before 2028, according to defence reporting that also notes the lead ship USS Gerald R. Ford will not sail on deployment before that year. The delays have drawn attention to ongoing shipbuilding and delivery setbacks in the Navy's newest carrier programme.

Why now: New reporting on delivery delays for the Navy's Ford-class carriers has renewed debate about US naval readiness.
