Belgium Delivers First Tripartite-Class Minehunter to Bulgaria
Original: Belgium Delivers First Tripartite-Class Minehunter to Bulgaria - Ukraine Operates the Same Type of Vessel https:// lemmy
Belgium has handed over the first of its Tripartite-class minehunters to Bulgaria, continuing a programme of transferring retired naval vessels to NATO allies on the Black Sea. The same ship type is also operated by Ukraine, which has received comparable minehunters from Belgian and Dutch stocks. The delivery strengthens Bulgarian mine-countermeasure capabilities at a time when Black Sea security and naval threats remain a central concern for NATO members.
Why now: The handover links European naval support to both Bulgaria and Ukraine against the backdrop of Black Sea security tensions.
