A mesonet station in the Southwest Mountains Edge area of Clark County recorded a thunderstorm wind gust of about 60 mph at 1:50 PM PST, according to the National Weather Service office in Las Vegas. The gust was measured at an NV Energy site in the Enterprise Sierra Cliffs area. Weather watchers are sharing the report as high winds, rather than heat or rain, batter the Las Vegas region, and more gusty conditions may be possible as the storm system moves through.
