GB News host hails council for scrapping refugee scheme
Original: 'VICTORY FOR BRITS OVER MIGRANTS!': Patrick Christys PRAISES council for scrapping refugee scheme
GB News presenter Patrick Christys praised a local council's decision to scrap a refugee resettlement scheme, framing it as a win for British residents over migrants. The strongly worded stance drew heavy engagement, with supporters celebrating the move and critics condemning the framing as hostile to refugees. It reflects the wider political fight in the UK over council responsibilities for housing asylum seekers and resettlement programmes.
Why now: Immigration remains one of the most contentious UK political debates, and a council reversing a refugee scheme is a flashpoint for both sides
