Original: Ukraine: Russia’s Increased Attacks on Energy and Heating Infrastructure ‘Creating a Deadly Situation for Civilians’

Amnesty International says Russia's increased strikes on Ukraine's energy and heating infrastructure are creating a deadly situation for civilians, leaving households without power and heat as winter conditions set in. The rights group is urging an end to attacks on civilian infrastructure, warning that the destruction of heating systems puts lives at risk during freezing months.

Why now: Renewed Russian strikes on Ukraine's power and heating systems as winter approaches have drawn fresh condemnation from human rights groups.
