A new group called the European Social Association has launched to represent the builders of European social media platforms. Organisers say developers, politicians and community organisers are uniting under one banner so their views reach policymakers, regulators and officials. The aim is to give smaller, Europe-based social networks a coordinated voice in debates over digital rules that currently favour large commercial platforms.
