Zelenskyy offers to stop strikes on Russian refineries for Patriot missiles
Original: Zelenskyy: Ukraine will halt strikes on Russian refineries if US provides interceptors President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is ready to halt its strikes on Russian oil refineries at the request of the United States, but only if Washington supplies Patriot interceptor missiles. The statement ties a potential de-escalation of attacks on Russian energy infrastructure to increased US air defence support, drawing attention amid ongoing discussions about Western military aid.
Why now: It links the war's trajectory to US decisions on air defence supplies at a moment of intense diplomatic pressure over energy targets.
