A developer has released an open-source tool called cleanyourtv on GitHub that lets users debloat Android and Google TV devices over Wi-Fi, removing preinstalled apps, ads and telemetry. The project is being shared among privacy-minded users who want more control over what runs on their smart TVs without needing technical setup.

Why now: Growing concern over ads, trackers and bloatware on smart TV platforms is driving interest in easy removal tools
