Wear OS 7.1 arrives, with system status bar coming later

Original: Wear OS 7.1 is official, but a future version will copy this key Android phone feature Wear OS will gain a system status

Google has released Wear OS 7.1, but the update does not include a system status bar for apps. According to Android Authority, that key Android phone feature will instead arrive in a future version of the wearable operating system, bringing app status displays closer in line with what Android smartphones already offer.

Why now: Wearable users and developers are watching how Google's smartwatch platform is converging with Android phone features.
