Pope Leo XIV celebrated Mass for the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed on All Souls' Day, telling worshippers that the Beatitudes are the path to a full life. He said faith in Christ shows that the bond with the faithful departed is not broken but transformed. The message offered comfort to those mourning loved ones and framed Christian hope around the dead.

Why now: All Souls' Day is a major annual observance, and the new pope's remarks on death and the departed draw wide attention among Catholics.
