Iran has formally designated Britain's Royal Navy and Royal Air Force as terrorist organisations and labelled MI6 a hostile group. The Iranian Foreign Ministry adopted the measure under a resolution from the Supreme National Security Council, presented as a response to actions by London. The move marks an escalation in already strained Iran-UK relations and is drawing international attention.

Why now: Escalating tensions between Iran and the UK, with an unprecedented formal designation of British armed forces.
