Japan's autumn imperial decorations list includes actor Keiko Matsuzaka, awarded the Order of the Rising Sun with Golden Rays, and Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda, awarded the higher Order of the Rising Sun with Paulownia Flowers. The awards recognise Matsuzaka's long career in film and television and Toyoda's contributions to Japan's automotive industry.

Why now: The autumn honours list was just published, and the pairing of a beloved actress with Toyota's chairman drew attention.
