Scientists are baffled by an unusually close bond observed between a male donkey and a bull, describing the relationship as 'really, really unusual'. Cross-species attachments like this are rare, and researchers are reportedly struggling to explain the behaviour behind the animals' apparent affection for one another.
Why now: The rare cross-species bond between the two animals is surprising and hard for scientists to explain.
