Black American traveller praises sense of safety in the UK
Original: Traveling the UK as a Black American: The Safety I Never Had
An American travel creator living abroad describes touring the United Kingdom as a Black American and says the experience offered a sense of personal safety he had never felt at home. He contrasts his time moving through British cities with his everyday experience in the United States, and the story has drawn close to a million likes, striking a chord with Black travellers weighing a move abroad.
Why now: Race and personal safety in the US versus Europe remain a charged topic, and travellers comparing life abroad are sharing the account widely.
