A decommissioned NASA telescope is likely to reenter Earth's atmosphere on Wednesday, with much of it expected to burn up during descent. Space watchers are tracking the satellite's orbital decay and debating where any surviving debris might land, as agencies stress the risk to people on the ground remains very low.

Why now: An uncontrolled satellite reentry is imminent, drawing attention to where debris could land.
