uBlock Origin filter blocks TechCrunch autoplay videos
Original: uBlock Origin filter to block autoplay videos in TechCrunch
A new uBlock Origin filter has been published that stops autoplay videos from playing on TechCrunch's website. The filter targets the autoplay behavior that many readers find intrusive, letting people browse the tech news site without videos launching on their own. It is being shared as a ready-made rule users can add to their existing uBlock Origin setup.
Why now: Frustration with autoplaying video ads and clips on news sites is a long-running annoyance, so a simple ready-made fix spreads quickly among privacy-minded readers.
