Gaza project documents the lives behind the numbers
A new project is documenting the individual lives of people in Gaza who have been killed in the conflict, aiming to put names, faces and personal stories behind casualty statistics. The effort seeks to preserve the memory of victims as the death toll continues to rise and journalists and families work to ensure those lost are not reduced to figures.
Why now: The ongoing war in Gaza keeps casualty figures at the centre of global attention, prompting efforts to humanise the statistics.
