A nature photographer shared a photo from a Sunday forest walk showing a small milkcap mushroom growing in the moss. They identified it only tentatively as a birch milkcap, noting they were not entirely certain of the species. The image is part of autumn mushroom photography posts circulating as the season's fungi appear in forests.
Why now: Autumn is mushroom season, when foragers and nature photographers share their forest finds online.
