US strikes Iranian Qeshm Island in Strait of Hormuz
Original: США нанесли удары по иранскому острову Кешм в Ормузском проливе — накануне выборов в Конгресс Американские военные 2 ноя
US forces struck Iran's Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz on 2 November. The strikes were described as limited in scale and a defensive response to Iran firing surface-to-air missiles at American military assets. The attack came shortly before the US congressional elections, drawing attention to the timing and potential political implications of the escalation.
Why now: The timing of a US strike on Iranian territory just before congressional elections raises questions about escalation and politics.
