Italian bishop Francesco Cavina lands new appointment

Original: francesco cavina

Francesco Cavina, an Italian bishop who had become the target of public criticism, has been given a new appointment. Italian newspaper Il Foglio frames the move as a rehabilitation of the prelate after he was, in its words, left in the pillory, and is drawing attention to the Vatican's or the church hierarchy's decision to restore him to an official role despite the controversy that surrounded him.

Why now: Il Foglio's coverage frames the new post as a controversial rehabilitation of a bishop previously embroiled in public criticism.
