US election coverage hit by garbled AI-generated content
Original: 📢 America Votes: 'CEKEVPATIVG EDELDOA' Slopfest 2k26 continues with an election, a fanfic fiasco, and World of Slopcraft
404 Media reports on the state of US election coverage in 2026, arguing it is being flooded with low-quality, apparently AI-generated material — including garbled text, a plagiarism or fanfiction controversy, and AI content in gaming spaces. The outlet frames the trend as a ongoing 'slopfest' degrading online information quality around the vote.
Why now: Concerns about AI-generated junk content flooding online discourse during the US election cycle.
