Asobu data breach may expose 15.8 million user records

Original: アソビュー

Japanese leisure-booking platform Asobu! says hackers accessed its email distribution system, potentially leaking personal data of over 15.8 million accounts. The Ryukyu Bank in Okinawa reported around 90,000 email addresses exposed and suspended mailings, while Naha city flagged about 80,000. Customers of Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, whose ticketing used the system, may also be affected, with names, phone numbers and addresses possibly leaked. Fukui prefecture is urging vigilance against secondary scams.

Why now: The scale of the suspected breach, affecting banks, a major city and museum visitors, is prompting widespread warnings about follow-up phishing scams.
