Xi Jinping tells Cameron China wants a united EU
Original: Looks like China President Xi Jinping had a message also on the EU issue for Britain. http:// telegraph.co.uk/news/uknew
Chinese President Xi Jinping, during his state visit to Britain, told Prime Minister David Cameron that China hopes to see a united European Union, delivering a clear message on Britain's EU debate. Former Swedish leader Carl Bildt highlighted the remarks, drawing attention to Beijing's stake in whether Britain stays in the EU and the timing of the message ahead of the UK's referendum discussion.
Why now: Xi's remarks land in the middle of Britain's heated debate over leaving the EU, with China openly backing a united bloc.
