Controversial dog breeder fights closure with 1982 permit
Original: bolle jos opgepakt
A controversial dog breeder in the Netherlands is challenging the closure of his operation by citing a breeding permit dating back to 1982. The case has drawn attention in North Brabant, where concerns about the breeder's practices have circulated for some time. Local media report that the legal dispute hinges on whether the decades-old licence remains valid under current animal welfare rules.
Why now: The breeder's use of a 40-year-old permit to resist closure is striking and raises questions about outdated breeding licences.
