Researchers reconstruct wild raptors' aerial pursuit behaviour
Original: Reconstructing a predatory bird’s aerial pursuit behavior in the wild
Researchers have reconstructed how predatory birds pursue their prey mid-flight in the wild, detailing the aerial manoeuvres raptors use during a hunt. The work offers new insight into the flight control and decision-making of hunting birds, and is being discussed as a notable contribution to understanding predator behaviour in natural settings.
Why now: New research on how wild predatory birds hunt in flight is drawing attention from science and nature audiences.
