Deltona asks residents to help mark storm drains
Original: Deltona asks residents to help mark storm drains to protect local waterways
The city of Deltona, Florida is asking residents to volunteer to mark storm drains as part of an effort to protect local waterways. Marked drains serve as reminders that whatever flows into them goes untreated into nearby lakes, rivers and springs. The program is aimed at curbing pollution such as yard waste, litter and chemicals entering the stormwater system.
Why now: The city has launched a community volunteer effort to raise stormwater pollution awareness.
