A diver filmed an eight-second video of a different approach on a morning dive: swimming to the edge of the reef and hovering nearly motionless close to the seafloor for about 45 minutes. He says the local sea creatures gradually got used to his presence, offering an unusually close look at underwater life.
Why now: The footage shows a rarely seen, close-up interaction with marine life made possible by the diver's patient, still approach.
