Minnesota voters have begun placing their "I Voted" stickers at memorial sites for Renée Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, turning an election-day ritual into a tribute. Reports say hundreds of people in Texas have done the same at the Houston site where Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was fatally shot by federal agents. The gesture links voting with remembrance of those killed in high-profile incidents.

Why now: The deaths at memorial sites remain raw and emotionally charged during the election, and voters are expressing mourning and protest together.
