Minnesota voters placed their "I Voted" stickers at memorial sites for Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good, two US citizens killed by federal immigration officials earlier this year. The gesture, reported during the Minneapolis election, has been read as a tribute linking the men's deaths to voters' turnout and a statement about accountability for federal immigration enforcement.
Why now: The deaths and their link to federal immigration enforcement remain a charged issue, and Election Day gave voters a visible way to mourn and respond.
