According to CleanTechnica, the US Department of Defense is moving toward a solar-powered future, with solar energy, batteries and microgrids central to a 'Fortress America' strategy for military bases. The report has drawn surprised reactions on social media, where users note the irony of the Pentagon embracing renewable energy amid broader political hostility to clean power.
Why now: People find it surprising that the Pentagon, often seen as oil-dependent, is embracing solar power and microgrids.
