Democrats win redrawn Florida House districts meant to favor Republicans

AP has called the Florida House races for Jared Moskowitz and Kathy Castor. The districts were redrawn after the 2020 census in a way widely seen as designed to keep Democrats from winning, yet both Democratic candidates prevailed anyway. Commenters are highlighting the irony that aggressive Republican-friendly redistricting failed to deliver the intended outcome in these seats.
Why now: The results contradict the intended purpose of the Republican-drawn districts, making the redistricting backfire a notable story.
