Democrats are on course to win congressional districts in Florida that Republicans had redrawn in their own favor, according to the Guardian. The GOP's effort to redraw the maps to its advantage fizzled on a strong night for Democrats in the state, dealing what the report calls a major blow to Trump's party ahead of the 2026 midterms.
Why now: The election results undermine Republican gerrymandering efforts and signal Democratic momentum ahead of the midterms.
