Six US cities facing billion-dollar flood losses
Original: More Failed # GOP Policies "Six American Cities Facing Billion Dollar Flood Losses" # Politics # News # USA # Government
Six American cities are each facing potential flood damage exceeding one billion dollars, according to a report circulating in US political discussion. Critics are framing the projected losses as the result of failed Republican policy on climate change, arguing that the party's approach leaves cities exposed to worsening disasters. Supporters dispute that framing, and the figures are feeding into wider election-year debate over climate and infrastructure spending.
Why now: Flooding risks and climate policy are being drawn into partisan election-year debate in the United States.
