Archived British colonial records from the Mandate period are being cited to show that imperial authorities documented Zionist violence and coercion against Palestinians in the years before the 1948 Nakba. The documents describe three methods used by the Zionist movement to pressure Britain and international opinion: intensive propaganda, irregular immigration into Palestine, and armed action. The material is being shared amid ongoing debate over the historical record of the Nakba.

Why now: The ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict keeps historical records about the origins of the Nakba highly contested and widely discussed
