Poles debate whether the internet is getting dumber
Original: INTERNET JEST CORAZ GŁUPSZY, IDZIEMY NA REKORD
Polish commentator Paweł Paczul has published a piece arguing that the internet is becoming increasingly stupid — and that we are heading for a record. The commentary has drawn close to half a million likes, striking a chord with audiences frustrated by low-quality content, clickbait and shrinking attention spans online. Many readers appear to agree that online discourse is deteriorating, making the claim one of the more widely shared recent takes on the state of the web.
Why now: Widespread frustration with declining quality of online content is resonating strongly with audiences right now.
