Nexus Mods, one of the largest game modding sites, has ruled out an outright ban on AI-generated content uploaded to its platform. The site's owners argue that banning such creations outright would not actually eliminate AI from the modding process, opting instead for a policy that allows generated works while addressing the issue in other ways. The decision is likely to divide the modding community, where views on generative AI remain sharply split.

Why now: The modding community is actively debating how sites should handle the surge of AI-generated content, and Nexus Mods' refusal to ban it is a significant stance.
