The United Nations reports that international funding to help poorer countries adapt to the climate crisis has stalled, according to a new UN adaptation report covered by the Guardian. The finding highlights a widening gap between the money developing nations need for climate resilience and what wealthy donors are actually delivering, prompting renewed calls for richer countries to scale up their climate finance commitments.
Why now: The UN has just published a report showing climate adaptation finance to poorer countries has stopped growing, drawing attention ahead of ongoing climate negotiations.
