Swedish author Andreas Malm banned from Britain
Original: 'Andreas Malm: ‘What of those who support genocide? Are they banned?’ Andreas Malm, a Swedish author and activist banned
Andreas Malm, the Swedish author and climate activist, has been banned from entering Britain, and says he was barred over his pro-Palestine views. Speaking to Socialist Worker, he asked: 'What of those who support genocide? Are they banned?' Critics see the exclusion as part of a wider crackdown on speech about Gaza, while supporters of the decision argue states have the right to deny entry to those they consider security risks.
Why now: The ban is being discussed as a free-speech controversy amid heightened tensions over Gaza and UK immigration decisions.
