Frank Darabont's 2007 horror film The Mist, based on Stephen King's novella, is getting a 4K remastered theatrical re-release in Japan to mark its 20th anniversary. The film is infamous for its bleak, despairing ending, often described by Japanese fans as a "depressive ending," and the re-release will bring that shocking conclusion back to the big screen.
Why now: Fans of the cult horror classic are reacting to the announcement that its famously bleak ending will return to cinemas two decades after release.
