Original: New Sidewalk Shed Designs By PAU Unveiled At 280 Broadway In Civic Center, Manhattan
New sidewalk shed designs by Practice for Architecture and Urbanism (PAU) have been unveiled at 280 Broadway in the Civic Center neighborhood of Manhattan. Sidewalk sheds are a familiar sight across New York City, and redesigned versions are being watched as a potential improvement to the city's ubiquitous construction scaffolding structures.
Why now: People are interested because sidewalk sheds are a constant, often criticized feature of New York streetscapes, and a new design could signal broader change.
