Original: Windows 11 Can Now Be Rendered Entirely On An NPU Instead Of A GPU, But You’ll Have To Settle For PowerPoint-Like Performance Of Just 2FPS

A demo shows Windows 11 being rendered entirely on an NPU rather than a GPU, proving the AI chip can drive the desktop interface. The catch: performance sits at roughly 2 frames per second, described as PowerPoint-like, so it remains a technical curiosity rather than a practical option for everyday use.

Why now: It highlights both the promise and current limits of NPUs in PCs, an unusual technical milestone people find amusing and noteworthy.
