South Korea Opens Humanoid Robot Data Factory for AI Training
Original: South Korea Opens Humanoid Robot Data Factory to Train AI Models on Real-World Tasks
South Korea has opened a dedicated data factory where humanoid robots collect training data from real-world tasks, aiming to improve AI models with physical, embodied experience rather than only internet text and images. The facility positions the country to compete in robotics and AI development, and observers see it as part of a broader global push to give humanoid robots practical skills for manufacturing and service work.
Why now: Countries are racing to secure an edge in embodied AI and humanoid robotics, and a national facility for real-world training data is a notable step.
