Original: isaac peral (s-81)
The Spanish Navy's S-81 submarine Isaac Peral sank the decommissioned patrol vessel Infanta Elena during the Sinkex 26 exercise, firing a German-built DM2A4 torpedo that struck the target off Spanish waters. The test marked a milestone for the troubled S-80 class submarine programme, demonstrating the Isaac Peral's combat capability after years of delays, and defence outlets and naval watchers are highlighting the result.
