BYD vehicles barred from US military base in Japan
Original: BYD Vehicles are Barred from a U.S. Military Base in Japan. So Why are they Allowed in U.S. Infrastructure?
BYD vehicles have reportedly been prohibited from entering a U.S. military base in Japan over security concerns, while Chinese-made BYD cars and components remain present in American infrastructure and supply chains at home. Critics, including the Alliance for American Manufacturing, are asking why restrictions applied overseas are not matched by policy on U.S. soil, pressing for a consistent federal approach to Chinese vehicle technology.
Why now: A apparent inconsistency between strict security rules abroad and looser treatment of BYD in U.S. infrastructure has drawn attention.
