Ben Lamm, CEO of de-extinction startup Colossal Biosciences, says his company chose to engage with the Trump administration rather than avoid it, arguing 'you don't put your head in the sand for four years.' His remarks, made as part of Wired's World Fair 2026 coverage, touch on how biotech startups navigate a polarized political environment while pursuing federal support and regulatory approval.
Why now: Working with the Trump administration is contentious, and a high-profile biotech CEO publicly defending that cooperation is drawing attention.
