Doctor Strange's First Film Paved The Way For The Multiverse Saga

Original: Doctor Strange Unlocked The Door To The MCU's Multiverse Saga Ten Years Ago

Commentary is revisiting the original Doctor Strange movie, released ten years ago, arguing that its sorcery and dimensional storylines quietly laid the groundwork for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's later Multiverse Saga. Writers note that elements introduced in the 2016 film resurfaced in projects like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Avengers films now building toward the multiverse era.

Why now: The tenth anniversary of Doctor Strange's release is prompting retrospective takes on its role in setting up the MCU's current multiverse storytelling.
