Original: Vance Tries to Distance Himself From Iran War After GOP’s Deep Losses in Midterm Elections
Vice President JD Vance is working to separate himself from the Iran war following heavy Republican losses in the midterm elections. Reports say he is trying to shift responsibility for the conflict as the party assesses what went wrong at the ballot box. The move highlights internal tension within the GOP over the unpopular military campaign.
Why now: The midterm results have made the Iran war a political liability, prompting Vance to reposition himself ahead of future elections.
