Israel-bound flight diverted to Saudi Arabia after onboard attack
Original: Israel-bound flight diverted to Saudi Arabia after terror attack on board
An Israel-bound flight was diverted to Saudi Arabia following what reports describe as a terror attack on board. The unusual diversion is drawing wide attention given the absence of diplomatic ties historically between Israel and Saudi Arabia, and details about casualties, the attacker, and the airline involved remain limited as the story develops.
Why now: A rare emergency landing of an Israel-bound plane in Saudi Arabia amid reports of a terror attack is highly newsworthy.
