Residential proxies detected on White House network
Traffic from residential proxy networks has been detected on the White House network, according to a report by Layer3Intel. Residential proxies route internet activity through ordinary home connections, making it harder to identify users and bypass security controls. The finding has sparked discussion among security researchers about how such traffic could appear on a government network and what monitoring or policy gaps it might reveal.
Why now: The possibility that anonymizing proxy traffic is active on a sensitive government network raises security and accountability concerns.
